KATHMANDU: Hyundai Creta EV and Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara are currently competing in the same price segment in Nepal’s EV market.
Both models are priced below Rs 6 million in most variants, making them direct rivals in the mid-size electric SUV category.
Powertrain and battery
Hyundai Creta EV is offered with two battery options: 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh (NCM battery). It comes with motor outputs of 99 kW and 126 kW depending on the variant. Claimed range is around 330 km to 420 km.
Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara is available with 49 kWh and 61 kWh battery options. It uses LFP battery chemistry. Motor output is reported at around 106 kW for the smaller pack and 128 kW for the larger pack. Claimed driving range is around 350 km to 430 km.

Dimensions and sizes
Creta EV measures 4340 mm in length, 1790 mm in width, and 1655 mm in height. Wheelbase is 2610 mm. Ground clearance is 200 mm.
e-Vitara measures 4275 mm in length, 1800 mm in width, and 1635 mm in height. Wheelbase is 2700 mm. Ground clearance is around 180 mm.
Creta EV is longer and taller. e-Vitara is wider and has a longer wheelbase.
Features and technology
Creta EV comes with dual 10.25-inch displays, panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, dual-zone climate control, Bose sound system, vehicle-to-load function, wireless charging, multiple drive modes, and Level 2 ADAS.
e-Vitara offers dual floating displays, ventilated front seats, 10-way power driver seat, rotary gear selector, multi-drive modes, wireless charging, panoramic sunroof, and a 360-degree camera system.
Safety includes multiple airbags, electronic stability features, hill control systems, and Level 2 ADAS in both models. e-Vitara offers up to 7 airbags, while Creta EV offers 6 airbags.

In a nutshell
e-Vitara offers slightly better range and wheelbase advantage. Creta EV focuses more on efficiency and feature refinement with Hyundai’s EV experience.
Both models target different buyer preferences. Hyundai has stronger EV market experience. Suzuki brings a new entry with a strong hybrid-to-EV transition strategy.
