KATHMANDU: Wuling is preparing to reintroduce the Bingo electric hatchback in Nepal. The model will return in Lite and Pro variants, nearly two years after it was last available in the market.
Paramount Motors, the authorised distributor of Wuling in Nepal, is expected to launch both variants in the coming weeks. The updated Bingo arrives with refreshed styling and additional features.
The compact EV will compete directly with the BYD Atto 1, one of the fastest-growing electric hatchbacks in Nepal. Both models target buyers looking for an affordable city-focused EV with practical driving range.
The Wuling Bingo measures 3,950 mm in length, 1,708 mm in width and 1,580 mm in height. It has a 2,560 mm wheelbase, placing it in the same compact hatchback segment as the Atto 1.
The EV rides on 15-inch steel wheels wrapped in 185/60 R15 tyres. Disc brakes are fitted on all four wheels, while the Pro variant gets dual-tone wheel covers.
The Bingo is powered by a 31.9 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack. It offers a CLTC-certified range of up to 333 km on a single charge.
Power comes from a 50 kW electric motor, enabling a top speed of 120 km/h. The hatchback has been designed primarily for urban commuting.
The battery supports DC fast charging, which can charge it from 30% to 80% in around 35 minutes. Using an AC charger, charging from 20% to 100% takes approximately 5.5 hours.
The two variants mainly differ in exterior styling and equipment.
The Lite variant comes with halogen headlamps, while the Pro features distinctive X-shaped LED headlights.
Inside, both variants feature a leather-wrapped steering wheel and a dual 10.25-inch display setup. The Pro also gets a six-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, while the Lite uses manual seat adjustment.
Other features include keyless entry, push-button start, cruise control, automatic climate control, a multifunction steering wheel and a four-speaker audio system.
Safety equipment includes dual airbags, ABS with EBD, an electronic parking brake, auto hold and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
With demand for compact EVs continuing to grow in Nepal, the return of the Wuling Bingo is expected to intensify competition in the segment. If priced competitively, it could emerge as a strong rival to the BYD Atto 1.
