KATHMANDU: MG’s new seven-seater electric SUV, the Hector Tomahawk, is set to enter the Nepali market. G.O. Automobiles, the official distributor of JSW MG Motor India in Nepal, has confirmed plans to introduce the electric SUV.

The company has not announced an official launch date. However, the Hector Tomahawk is expected to arrive in Nepal within 2026.

The electric SUV has gained attention in India for its driving range, technology and premium features. It comes with a spacious cabin and a boxy exterior design.

Premium exterior design

The Hector Tomahawk features a modern front-end design with a closed grille, textured chrome inserts and an illuminated MG logo. It also gets rectangular LED headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights.

The front bumper features aerodynamic air vents and a chrome-finished lower air dam. The SUV has a boxy profile with large windows and traditional pull-type door handles.

It rides on 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels with red brake calipers. At the rear, the SUV gets wraparound LED tail-lights, a large roof spoiler and a silver skid plate.

Spacious and feature-rich interior

Inside, the Hector Tomahawk features a light brown and black color theme. The cabin includes soft-touch materials on the dashboard, door pads, armrest and steering wheel.

The driver’s seat comes with six-way power adjustment, while the front passenger seat gets four-way adjustment. Both front seats are ventilated.

The gear selector is mounted on the steering column. This helps free up space in the center console.

517 km range and 150 kW motor

The Hector Tomahawk EV is built on MG’s ADAPT platform. It is powered by a 150 kW electric motor that produces 310 Nm of torque.

The SUV comes with a 69.2 kWh battery pack. According to the company, it offers a claimed range of up to 517 km on a single charge.

It supports 90 kW DC fast charging. The battery can charge from 30 to 80 percent in around 35 minutes. The SUV also features vehicle-to-home (V2H) functionality.

Advanced technology and safety features

The Hector Tomahawk features a large 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Other features include a 10-speaker Infinity sound system, an 8.8-inch digital driver display, a wireless phone charger and connected car technology.

The SUV also comes with a Pet Mode and an integrated karaoke system.

Safety features include six airbags, electronic stability control, hill-hold assist, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), front and rear parking sensors, all-wheel disc brakes, an electronic parking brake and a 360-degree camera.

The top-spec variant comes with Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). It includes autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist and traffic jam assist.

The company is expected to announce further details about the Nepal-spec Hector Tomahawk EV, including its price and launch date, in the coming months.
