KATHMANDU: The iCAUR V23 is gaining popularity in Nepal, with its distinctive boxy design, retro-inspired front, round headlights and rugged SUV appearance helping it stand out in the electric vehicle market.

SPG Automobiles first showcased the iCAUR V23 at the NAIMA Mobility Expo 2025. Although bookings opened during the expo, customer deliveries began only in December 2025.

The model received a moderate response in its early days. However, its popularity has grown as more units have appeared on Nepali roads.

The iCAUR V23 mainly attracts buyers who want the look and feel of a Jeep-style SUV at a relatively affordable price. Its 210 mm ground clearance is another feature that makes it suitable for buyers looking for a rugged electric SUV.

Monthly import figures

After the initial import of demo vehicles, the first major shipment of the iCAUR V23 arrived in December 2025, with 50 units imported that month.

According to import data, 100 units were imported in January 2026, followed by 52 units in February and 50 units in March. Imports reached 73 units in April and 77 units in May.

Similarly, 50 units arrived in June and 60 units in July. No units were imported in August, while imports increased sharply to 226 units in September. Another 20 units arrived in October 2026.

The absence of imports in August was due to the closure of the Rasuwagadhi border crossing following floods in the Bhotekoshi area. Otherwise, the company had been importing the model every month since shipments began.

September 2026 recorded the highest monthly import, with 226 units brought into Nepal. In total, 758 units of the iCAUR V23 were imported over 11 months.

Pricing and features power sales

The iCAUR V23’s strong sales performance is largely supported by its relatively affordable pricing for a vehicle of its size and design. It comes with a 100 kW rear-wheel-drive motor and a battery pack of around 60 kWh, offering a balance of performance and driving range.

Its cabin is another major attraction. The SUV features comfortable seats, off-road-inspired control buttons and multiple driving modes.
