KATHMANDU: Tata Motors has crossed a major milestone in India’s electric passenger vehicle market, with cumulative EV sales surpassing 250,000 units. The company continues to lead the segment with a dominant 66 percent market share.

Tata Motors currently offers a broad EV lineup in India, including the Tiago.ev, Punch.ev, Nexon.ev, Curvv.ev, and Harrier.ev. For commercial and fleet buyers, the company also sells the Xpress-T EV.

Among these, the Nexon.ev remains Tata’s strongest performer. Launched in 2020, it has consistently ranked among India’s best-selling electric cars and became the first Indian EV to cross 100,000 cumulative sales.

Looking ahead, Tata Motors plans an aggressive expansion of its EV portfolio. By FY2030, the company aims to introduce five new electric nameplates, including the Sierra and the Avinya, along with multiple updates and refreshes to existing models.

The Sierra.ev and the new-generation Punch.ev are expected to arrive in 2026, while the Avinya range of premium luxury EVs is slated for launch around the end of next year.

Alongside product expansion, Tata Motors is also scaling up charging infrastructure across the country. The company plans to install around 400,000 charging points by CY2027, including 30,000 public fast chargers.

By 2030, Tata is targeting a network of 1 million chargers, with 100,000 public charging points, supported by next-generation super-fast charging technology.

Tata Motors offers a strong lineup of electric vehicles in Nepal through its authorized distributor, Sipradi Trading, supported by a strong sales and service network. The company has also established a growing network of more than 100 EV charging stations across Nepal.
