Bajaj Chetak electric scooter delivery begins

KATHMANDU: Deliveries of Bajaj Chetak have officially begun in Nepal, two weeks after the electric scooter was launched in the local market.

Hansraj Hulaschand & Company, the official distributor of Bajaj in Nepal, has set the price of the Chetak at Rs 324,900.

The company unveiled the Bajaj Chetak 3501 model at the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo and has opened a dedicated showroom for the scooter in Naxal, Kathmandu.

The scooter features a 4.2 kW motor and a 3.5 kWh battery which delivers a range of 153 km on a full charge, according to the company. Similarly, a 5-inch TFT touchscreen display on the scooter provides smart navigation, music control and document access. Additional features in the scooter include geo-fencing, accident detection and anti-theft protection.

The scooter offers 35 liters of under-seat storage and can be charged from 0 to 80% in three hours using a fast charger.
