KATHMANDU: The Bajaj Chetak EV has achieved a historic milestone by becoming the first electric scooter to reach the Korala Border.

Located at an altitude of 4,660 metres, Korala is one of Nepal’s highest motorable points.

This achievement was part of a high-altitude endurance test aimed at proving the scooter’s strength and reliability in extreme conditions. The test route included steep climbs, low temperatures and challenging road surfaces.

The Bajaj Chetak EV used in this test comes with an all-metal body rated IP67 for water and dust resistance. It offers a certified range of 153 km on a single charge.

Other features include a keyless start, TFT console, and intelligent battery management system.

Commenting on the achievement, Abhimanyu Golchha, Director of Golchha Group, said, “Reaching the Korala Border is a test of reliability and trust. The Chetak EV showed that it is ready for all kinds of roads in Nepal.”

This achievement positions the Chetak as a highly reliable electric scooter for Nepal’s diverse terrain.

The Bajaj Chetak 3501 is built for both city and rough roads, offering 35 litres of storage, fast charging and smart features like navigation, geo-fencing and accident alerts.
