KATHMANDU: LRR Motors, the authorised distributor of Beijing Automobile Works (BAW) in Nepal, is set to launch the BAW E7 Pro electric mini car. The company plans to unveil the model in early August and expects it to strengthen BAW’s presence in Nepal’s rapidly growing EV market.
BAW is one of China’s oldest automobile manufacturers, with more than 70 years of automotive engineering experience. The company is also known for producing vehicles for the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA).
Designed for urban driving, the E7 Pro features a compact exterior while offering a spacious cabin and modern driving technologies. It is powered by a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor paired with a high-capacity lithium battery pack, delivering smooth acceleration, responsive performance and an efficient driving experience.
The hatchback also features a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) layout, which the company says improves weight distribution, hill-climbing ability, handling and overall driving stability. LRR Motors believes the setup is well suited to Nepal’s mix of urban roads and hilly terrain.
Jeevan Jung Shahi, Managing Director of LRR Motors, said the E7 Pro reflects the company’s commitment to bringing world-class EVs to Nepal. He said the model’s success in Sri Lanka and its technology, build quality and performance give the company confidence it will appeal to Nepali buyers.
According to the company, the E7 Pro has been developed for young professionals, first-time EV buyers, families, entrepreneurs, ride-sharing operators and urban customers looking for an affordable electric vehicle with modern technology.
