KATHMANDU: Changan and GAC have launched their latest electric SUVs in Europe. These launches offer new options for buyers seeking long-range EVs.
The Changan Deepal S05 starts at USD 45,780. This compact crossover features a 68.8 kWh LFP battery and offers a range of up to 485 km (WLTP).
The Deepal S05 has a sleek design with a closed front fascia, split headlights, flush door handles and a full-width taillight. Inside, it boasts a 15.4-inch floating touchscreen, wireless charging pads and sporty front seats. The rear-wheel-drive model produces 200 kW (268 hp), while the all-wheel-drive version offers 320 kW (429 hp).

The GAC Aion V starts at USD 42,210. It is powered by a 75 kWh battery, providing a range of 510 km. The SUV charges to 80% in 24 minutes and runs on a single motor with 165 kW (221 hp) power.
The GAC Aion V features a stylish design, a 14.6-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a five-seat layout. It includes wireless charging, a heat pump, a built-in refrigerator, nine speakers and massage front seats. The SUV also supports vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology and offers Level 2 driver-assistance features.
Both the Deepal S05 and GAC Aion V are already on sale in Nepal.
