KATHMANDU: Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel has inaugurated the first-ever “NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2025”. The five-day event began today at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu.
Before the formal opening, the minister inspected the venue and praised the event’s management. “The quality of the expo has improved. It is well-organized, and the number of new vehicles on display is impressive,” he said.
NAIMA Chairperson Ritu Singh Vaidya, in her welcome remarks, highlighted the need for better road conditions. She also called on the government to make laws that support modern transport. Vaidya stressed the importance of building a world-class exhibition center in Bhrikutimandap.
In response, the Finance Minister said that the government is focused on building better roads. “We are using cement and new technology for stronger, cleaner roads,” he said. He added that the government has already set a budget to build an international-standard exhibition center at the same location. The project is expected to be completed in three years.
Addressing concerns from business leaders, Minister Paudel said the government is working closely with the private sector. “This year’s budget was prepared in consultation with them. We have tried to keep things stable,” he said.
He also mentioned that no changes were made to automobile tax rates in the current budget. “This was done with a long-term vision. NAIMA should appreciate the government’s decision,” he added.
