KATHMANDU: The iCaur V23 electric SUV was showcased in Nepal last month.

SPG Automobiles, the authorized distributor for Chery’s Omoda, Jaecoo and iCaur sub-brands, plan to launch sales of the rugged lifestyle SUV in November.

Chery’s iCar sub-brand is promoted as iCaur in global markets due to copyright issues.

The company has brought one unit of the V23 to Nepal for road testing purpose ahead of its official launch. The SUV was first showcased in Kathmandu and later unveiled in Pokhara.

MeroAuto has already put the vehicle to the test drive. Based on our test drive, we present you five key strengths of the iCaur V23:

Pricing
The company has announced that the top variant of the V23, which is positioned as a large compact SUV, will cost under Rs 4.7 million. Bookings have already opened, and the model is likely to be available in two variants. Despite having several luxury features, the V23 priced on par with regular SUVs. It stands out as an electric lifestyle alternative to popular petrol-powered off-roaders like the Suzuki Jimny and Mahindra Thar. This make V23 attractive in terms of value.

Rugged Aesthetics and Tech-Rich Design
The iCaur V23 is built in a retro-classic style with a very sturdy roof and striking exterior design. It measures 4,220 mm in length, 1,915 mm in width and 1,845 mm in height which gives the V23 a strong road presence.

Large Battery and Balanced Motor
The SUV comes with a 59.93 kWh battery paired with a 100 kW motor which produces 180 Nm peak torque. The V23 delivers a driving range of over 300 km on normal driving conditions.

Luxury Cabin
Another highlight of the V23 is its spacious cabin with ample legroom and headroom. The comfortable seats and specially designed mechanical knobs add a unique feel to the interior.

Chery-Sharda Group Partnership
The brand strength behind the V23 lies in Chery Motors—the largest Chinese car exporter selling vehicles in over 80 countries. Sharda Group, the parent company of SPG Automobiles, also distributes brands like Nissan and Zeekr in Nepal. This partnership adds to consumer confidence with its market experience.
