KATHMANDU: Jaecoo has introduced a new J5 Pro variant in Nepal with a smaller battery pack and a lower price.
SPG Automobiles, the authorized distributor of Omoda and Jaecoo in Nepal, has started sales of the new J5 Pro at the NADA Auto Show 2026.
The company has set the introductory price at Rs. 4.799 million. This price is available to the first 100 customers, according to the company.
The new J5 Pro is Rs. 900,000 cheaper than the existing Jaecoo J5, which is priced at Rs. 5.699 million. The price reduction comes with a smaller battery pack.
The new J5 Pro gets a 50.7 kWh battery, compared with the 58 kWh battery in the existing J5. It has a claimed range of up to 405 km on a full charge.
The SUV is powered by a 155 kW front-wheel-drive motor. It produces 288 Nm of peak torque.
The J5 Pro features an 8.88-inch digital instrument cluster and a 13.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Other features include a panoramic glass roof, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, 50W wireless charging, dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, a powered tailgate and a 360-degree camera.
For safety, the SUV comes with six airbags, ABS, EBD, brake assist and auto hold. Its ADAS package includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert.
The J5 Pro has a ground clearance of 185 mm. It also comes with a full-size spare wheel, which adds practicality for driving on Nepali roads.
SPG Automobiles is offering an extended warranty of up to 11 years or 240,000 km on the SUV.
