KATHMANDU: Honda is preparing a facelift for the City sedan in India. This will be the second update for the fifth-generation City, which was introduced in 2020.
The updated Honda City is expected to debut in the second half of 2026. The launch will come at a time when key rivals such as the Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Slavia and Hyundai Verna are also due for midlife updates.
Reports suggest the 2026 Honda City facelift could take design inspiration from the new Civic and other global Honda models. Exterior updates may include a redesigned front grille, revised bumpers and new LED headlamps and taillights.
Changes inside the cabin are expected to be minimal. The overall layout is likely to remain the same. However, the car could receive updated hardware and fresh upholstery.
The 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine is expected to continue without changes. It produces 119 BHP at 6,600 rpm and 145 Nm at 4,300 rpm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed manual or a CVT.
The City Hybrid will also get the same cosmetic updates. It will continue with the 1.5-liter hybrid powertrain, paired with a CVT.
