KATHMANDU: Chery Group’s rugged iCaur V27 is set to arrive in Nepal next month, with the hybrid off-road SUV expected to make its local debut at the NAIMA Mobility Expo 2026.

SPG Automobiles, the official distributor of iCar vehicles in Nepal, is bringing the V27 to the country. The model is based on an Extended-Range Electric Vehicle (EREV) powertrain, combining electric driving with a petrol engine that acts as a range extender.

The company has not confirmed whether the V27 will go on sale immediately after its arrival or if it is being imported only for display at the auto show. However, company sources confirmed that the SUV will be showcased at the NAIMA Mobility Expo.

“The vehicle is expected to arrive in Nepal during the first week of August. It will be displayed at the auto expo,” a company source told MeroAuto.

The iCar V27 is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine paired with an EREV system. In China, it is offered in both rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and all-wheel-drive (AWD) versions. SPG Automobiles has not yet revealed which drivetrain will be introduced in Nepal.

The AWD variant produces 335 kW of maximum power and 505 Nm of torque, enabling it to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 5.5 seconds.

The SUV features a 34.3 kWh CATL LFP battery, delivering an electric-only driving range of around 145 km. With a full fuel tank and battery, the combined driving range is claimed to be approximately 1,200 km.

The V27 is a full-size SUV measuring 5,055 mm in length, 1,976 mm in width, and 1,894 mm in height, with a 2,910 mm wheelbase.

For technology, the SUV is equipped with Horizon Journey’s 6P computing chip and Falcon 700 advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), offering a range of intelligent safety and driver-assistance features.

The arrival of the V27 will further expand iCar’s product lineup in Nepal, where the brand is strengthening its presence in the growing electrified SUV segment.
