KATHMANDU: The Italian State Police has added a new Lamborghini Temerario to its fleet. The 907-hp plug-in hybrid supercar will be used for high-priority public-service missions, including the urgent transport of organs and medical supplies.
The new police Temerario was unveiled in Sant’Agata Bolognese in the presence of Italian Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi and Lamborghini executives.
The Temerario is powered by a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine paired with three electric motors. The plug-in hybrid powertrain produces a combined 907 hp.
The supercar will be used when fast response is critical, particularly for medical missions where time can be crucial.
Lamborghini’s partnership with the Italian State Police began in 2004 with the Gallardo. The car was used for highway patrol duties and completed its first organ transport mission in September 2004.
Since then, the police fleet has included the Gallardo LP 560-4, several Huracán models and the Urus Performante, which joined the fleet in 2023.
Over the past 22 years, six Lamborghini vehicles have served with the Italian State Police. They have been involved in more than 200 organ transport missions across Italy and over 1,500 road-safety and safe-driving initiatives.
The Temerario continues this long-running partnership. Despite its supercar appearance and 907-hp powertrain, its primary purpose is to provide rapid transportation during critical public-service operations.
