KATHMANDU: The Chinese SUV Jaecoo 7 has emerged as the best-selling car in the UK. It was the top-selling model in March and remains the most popular car so far in 2026.
The Jaecoo 7 has consistently ranked among the top 10 models since September 2025. In March alone, the company sold 10,064 units. This was around 70% higher than the second-placed model. Total sales have reached 15,703 units in 2026 so far.
The plug-in hybrid SHS-P variant accounted for a major share of sales. It made up 85% of total Jaecoo 7 sales in March. The model also contributed 2.66% of total vehicle sales during the month.
The Jaecoo 7 is offered in both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive options. It comes with a 1.6-liter turbo-petrol engine. The plug-in hybrid version offers a combined driving range of up to 1,199 km and an electric-only range of 90 km.
The company has also introduced a full-hybrid version of the SUV, further expanding its powertrain options.
