KATHMANDU : Kia has opened bookings for the Syros EV in Nepal, with the electric sub-four-metre SUV being introduced at an attractive introductory price of Rs. 3.59 million.
Continental Trading Enterprises, the authorized distributor of Kia vehicles in Nepal, has announced the Syros EV at the ongoing NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo 2026. The official price of the Kia Syros EV has been set at Rs. 3.79 million.
However, the company is offering a Rs. 200,000 discount to the first 100 customers under the NAIMA offer. This brings the introductory price of the Syros EV down to Rs. 3.59 million.
The Kia Syros EV is available in India with 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh battery options. In Nepal, the model is being introduced with the 42 kWh battery pack, which offers a claimed range of up to 443 km on a single full charge.
The 42 kWh version is powered by an electric motor producing 171 PS. It supports up to 100 kW DC fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in around 39 minutes.
The Syros EV has a ground clearance of 197 mm and is based on Kia’s K1 platform. The battery is an IP67-rated nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) unit with liquid-cooled thermal management.
Distinctive EV design
The Syros EV gets several design changes compared with the internal-combustion-engine version. The front features a closed-off grille in place of the conventional grille, along with a revised bumper.
The charging flap is positioned on the front-left side of the vehicle. Kia’s signature vertically oriented ‘Ice Cube’ LED headlamps give the SUV a distinctive appearance.
On the side, the Syros EV features a thick B-pillar and an upward-rising window line that leads into an eye-catching C-pillar design. It rides on new 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and gets flush-type door handles.
At the rear, the tailgate carries prominent EV badging. Vertically positioned L-shaped LED tail lamps, a triangular windshield element and a black bumper give the SUV a muscular appearance.
Premium interior and triple-screen setup
The interior layout of the Syros EV is similar to that of the petrol-powered version, with a premium cabin layout.
One of its key highlights is the 30-inch triple-screen setup. It combines a 12.3-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 5-inch touchscreen climate-control panel.
The SUV also comes with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a shift-by-wire column-mounted shifter, paddle shifters for regenerative braking, rear AC vents and an electronic parking brake with auto hold.
Other features include rear sunshade curtains, a covered front trunk (frunk) and disc brakes on all four wheels.
Depending on the variant, the Syros EV can also be equipped with a panoramic sunroof, Harman Kardon eight-speaker audio system, ventilated front and rear seats, a powered driver’s seat, Kia Connect 2.0 with more than 95 connected features, over-the-air software updates, wireless phone charging, a smart dashcam, a 360-degree camera and vehicle-to-load (V2L) functionality.
Level 2 ADAS and safety features
The Syros EV comes with a comprehensive range of safety and driver-assistance features, depending on the variant.
These include up to six airbags, electronic stability control, hill-start assist control, a tire pressure monitoring system, rear parking sensors, a virtual engine sound system, a 360-degree camera, blind-view monitor and side parking sensors.
The SUV also offers a Level 2 advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) package with 16 functions, depending on the variant.
