KATHMANDU : Kia has launched the Syros EV in the Indian market. The electric SUV is available with two battery options and is priced between 1.349 million Indian rupees and 1.999 million Indian rupees (ex-showroom).
The Syros EV is offered with 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh battery packs. The smaller battery delivers a claimed range of 443 km, while the larger battery offers up to 526 km on a full charge.
Kia is also offering the Syros EV under its Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) program. Built on Kia’s K1 platform, the Syros EV features the brand’s Digital Tiger Face, Ice Cube LED headlamps, Star Map LED DRLs and taillights, flush door handles, and 17-inch dual-tone aero alloy wheels.
Inside, the SUV gets a 30-inch panoramic display, which combines a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 5-inch climate control display.
Other key features include a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, a four-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, sliding and reclining rear seats, a built-in dashcam, a 360-degree camera, and Level 2 ADAS.
The Syros EV is powered by a single electric motor producing up to 169 hp. It can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 8.1 seconds.
Charging options include a 10.8 kW AC onboard charger and support for 100 kW DC fast charging. Using a DC fast charger, the battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in 39 minutes.
Kia is offering a 15-year/unlimited-kilometer battery warranty with the Syros EV. The company has also introduced an assured buyback program that promises up to 80 percent resale value after three years for Indian customers.
