KATHMANDU: KTM Nepal recently demonstrated the 390 Enduro R’s capability by riding to Dhukungla Pass in Dolpa, at an altitude of 5,500 meters. The team completed the journey on three KTM 390 Enduro R bikes, marking the first time any motorcycle reached this high mountain pass.
Hansraj Hulash Chand & Company, KTM’s authorized distributor in Nepal, recently launched the KTM 390 Enduro R. Although initial bookings were lower than expected, the bike has gained attention for its performance and competitive pricing.
Enduro motorcycles don’t get much attention in Nepal. The market here is mostly dominated by adventure tourers, so choices for true enduro bikes are limited.
It’s important to note that enduro and adventure tourers belong to different segments.
Even though the KTM 390 Enduro R has no competitors in Nepal. Priced at Rs 1 million, it remains the only enduro motorcycle available in the country. Its appeal is stronger because similar bikes are much more expensive. Honda’s CRF 250, previously sold by Syakar Trading, and was discontinued after low demand, mostly due to its high price.
With no direct competitors, the 390 Enduro R stands as Nepal’s only option for riders looking for a true enduro motorcycle.
