KATHMANDU: Interior spy photos of the upcoming Leapmotor D99 have been revealed, giving an early look at the company’s first MPV ahead of its expected debut at the end of 2025.

The model will be developed by Leapmotor and positioned as a technology-focused luxury flagship MPV, according to Chinese media reports.

The interior design appears similar to the Leapmotor D19, featuring a floating center touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, column-mounted gear shifter, and a three-spoke steering wheel. The rear seats are expected to include zero-gravity seats designed for improved passenger comfort.

In terms of size, the D99 will be a large MPV with a length of more than 5.2 meters, width close to 2 meters, and a wheelbase exceeding 3.1 meters. The exterior will feature an active air intake grille, DLP projection headlights, large side windows, and a panoramic sunroof with over 99.9% UV protection. It will also ride on 19-inch alloy wheels with Michelin Primacy 5E tires and feature interactive rear lighting.

The MPV will be offered with advanced electric powertrain options. Leapmotor says the model will use an 800V high-voltage range-extender platform with an 80.3 kWh battery, while a pure electric version will feature a 1000V system with a 115 kWh battery supplied by CATL.

Inside the cabin, the D99 is expected to include premium materials, large seating space for second and third rows, an intelligent cockpit system, and advanced driver-assistance technology powered by dual high-performance chips.

For ride and safety, the MPV will feature strong body rigidity, four-piston brake calipers, dual-chamber air suspension with adaptive damping, and stability systems designed to maintain control even in the event of a tire blowout.
