KATHMANDU: Maruti Suzuki produced a record 2.255 million vehicles in calendar year 2025, marking its highest-ever annual output in India.
The company crossed 2.0 million units for the second consecutive year, continuing its steady production growth. Maruti Suzuki said its top five models by production volume in 2025 were Fronx, Baleno, Swift, Dzire, and Ertiga.
Maruti Suzuki began operations in 1983 with its first manufacturing plant in Gurgaon, Haryana, India and has since expanded capacity through multiple facilities. Annual production stood at 1.629 million units in 2021, rising to 1.916 million units in 2022.
Output increased to 1.934 million units in 2023 and 2.063 million units in 2024, before reaching the 2025 record.
Commenting on the milestone, Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and CEO of Maruti Suzuki, said the achievement reflects employee dedication and close coordination with supplier partners. He added that high localization levels have helped the company scale production while maintaining global quality standards, highlighting the strength of India’s automotive manufacturing ecosystem.
