KATHMANDU: Yamaha and Bajaj have launched updated motorcycles in the Nepali market with the start of 2026, intensifying competition in the mid-segment category.
MAW Ride, the authorized distributor of Yamaha motorcycles and scooters in Nepal, has started sales of the Yamaha FZS Hybrid. The model is based on the existing FZ platform and retains the same design and engine, with added technology features.
The Yamaha FZS Hybrid is powered by a 149cc single-cylinder fuel-injected engine producing 12.4 PS of power and 13.2 Nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed gearbox. New features include a 4.2-inch TFT color display, smart connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, traction control, and a start-stop system for silent starting. The motorcycle is priced at Rs 469,900.

Meanwhile, Hansraj Hulashchand & Company, the authorized distributor of Bajaj motorcycles in Nepal, has opened bookings for the updated Bajaj Pulsar 220F. The refreshed model comes with new graphics and two additional color options.
The Pulsar 220F now features a Bluetooth-enabled fully digital LCD instrument cluster with turn-by-turn navigation, call and message alerts. It is equipped with telescopic front suspension, 5-step Nitrox rear shock absorbers, LED lighting, alloy wheels, tubeless tires, and dual disc brakes.

There are no mechanical changes to the Pulsar 220F. It continues to use a 220cc air- and oil-cooled, twin-spark FI DTS-i engine that produces 20.4 PS of power and 18.5 Nm of torque, mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
While Bajaj has not officially announced the price, the updated Pulsar 220F is expected to be priced at around Rs 440,000. With both brands introducing feature-rich updates, strong price competition is expected in Nepal’s motorcycle market.
