KATHMANDU: Toyota is set to launch the ninth-generation Toyota Hilux in India on July 28.
The new pickup made its global debut in November 2025 and was recently spotted during a TV commercial shoot in New Delhi, signaling its upcoming launch in the Indian market.
The latest Hilux features a more rugged design than its predecessor. It gets a new honeycomb grille, slim LED headlights connected by a black trim, muscular fenders, a redesigned tailgate, and C-shaped LED taillights.
Inside, the pickup comes with a completely redesigned cabin. Key features include a 12.3-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, a new three-spoke steering wheel, ventilated front seats, wireless phone charging, a 360-degree camera, and an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS).
The India-spec Hilux is expected to retain the existing 2.8-liter diesel engine. However, Toyota may pair it with a 48V mild-hybrid system, similar to the one introduced in the Toyota Fortuner.
Toyota has not yet announced detailed specifications or pricing. More information is expected closer to the launch.
