Renault reveals Filante hybrid SUV developed jointly with Geely

KATHMANDU: Renault Korea has unveiled the Filante, its largest hybrid SUV, developed jointly with Chinese automaker Geely. The new model was revealed in South Korea on January 13, 2026, The Filante is priced from USD 29,390.

The Filante is the second model jointly developed by Renault and Geely after the Grand Koleos. Geely acquired a 34.02 percent stake in Renault Korea Motors in 2022. The earlier Grand Koleos, based on the Geely Monjaro, became Renault Korea’s best-selling model.

Built on Geely’s CMA modular platform, the Renault Filante measures 4,915 mm in length, making it the largest vehicle in Renault’s global lineup. It features a two-row seating layout and offers a luggage capacity of 633 liters.

The SUV is powered by a 1.5-liter hybrid system combined with two electric motors, producing a total output of 247 hp. It uses a 1.64 kWh battery and offers an average fuel consumption of about 6.6 liters per 100 km. Renault claims the Filante can operate in electric mode for up to 75 percent of urban driving.

Interior highlights include three 12.3-inch screens, a 25.6-inch augmented reality head-up display, AI-based voice control, and advanced driver assistance features.

Renault has positioned the Filante as a global model, with markets outside Europe, including the Middle East, expected to receive the SUV after its South Korean launch.
