KATHMANDU: Renault Group has announced its new ‘future India’ strategy, with plans to launch seven models in India by 2030.
The future lineup will include compact cars, SUVs, strong hybrids and fully electric vehicles. The company said India will play a major role in its next phase of global growth.
At the center of the plan are two new platforms, RGEP and RGMP Small. Both architectures are designed to support multiple powertrains, including petrol, hybrid and EV systems.
The recently launched Renault Duster is the first of the seven planned products. Renault also revealed the Bridger Concept, which previews a new B-segment SUV. The model will also be offered in a fully electric version.
François Provost said India represents one of the biggest growth opportunities for Renault in markets where the brand already operates. He added that India is expected to become not only a growth market, but also a center of excellence and export hub for the group.
Renault has been present in India for around 15 years. The company now aims to use local manufacturing and engineering strength to improve global competitiveness.
