KATHMANDU: Bajaj’s electric scooter, the Chetak, has officially entered the Nepali market.
Hansraj Hulaschand & Company, the authorized distributor of Bajaj in Nepal, launched the Chetak 3501 variant during an event held on Sunday. The price of the scooter has been set at Rs 324,900.
The company informed that the Chetak has been tested across different terrains in Nepal. It even completed a ride to Lo Manthang. To support sales and service, the company has opened a dedicated showroom in Naxal.
The Chetak 3501 is powered by a 3.5 kW battery mounted on the floorboard. It takes about 4 hours to charge from 0 to 80 %. Once fully charged, the scooter can travel up to 127 km, as per company. It also offers 35 liters of under-seat storage.
The scooter comes with several modern features. These include an LCD console, music control, hill hold assist, reverse light, guide-me-home lamp and smartphone connectivity.
