KATHMANDU: The NIMA Nepal Mobility Expo, set for August 6–10, will feature over a dozen new vehicle models. It’s hard to say which one will lead in sales.

Looking at recent trends and buyer preferences in Nepal, some upcoming models are expected to grab more attention. These vehicles will be on display at the auto show in Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu, starting August 6.

We’ve highlighted a few models that are likely to stand out at the event.

Among the brands participating, the Omoda/Jaecoo iCar V23, Mahindra BE 6 and Leapmotor B10 are likely to stand out.

Of these, the Mahindra BE 6 has already arrived in Nepal. The other two have also reached customs, according to importers.

Let’s examine the key specifications, battery, motor and size, of these three models.

iCar V 23

The iCar V 23 is anticipated to be the biggest attraction at the Mobility Expo. With its unique look, distinctive body design, classic features and attractive finishing, it is sure to captivate both potential buyers and onlookers.

The V 23 measures 4,220 mm in length, 1,915 mm in width and 1,845 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,735 mm. Its 200 mm ground clearance makes it an ideal car for Nepal based on its size.

Designed for off-road capability, the V 23 boasts a departure angle of 40 degrees and an approach angle of 42 degrees, allowing it to navigate rough roads with ease.

SPG Automobile will bring the V 23 to Nepal, equipped with a 59.93 kWh battery, offering a range of around 400 km, as claimed by the company. It features a 100 kW electric motor.

The V 23 SUV comes with a smoked front grille, round headlights, roof luggage rack and hidden door handles. With a long list of modern features, the iCar V 23 is poised to be the most talked-about lifestyle SUV model at the Mobility Expo.

Mahindra BE 6

Manufactured in India, the Mahindra BE 6 is expected to draw a large number of visitors due to its premium and youth-friendly design. Its standout feature is undoubtedly its design. Entering Nepal in the compact SUV segment, the BE 6 measures 4,371 mm in length, 1,907 mm in width and 1,627 mm in height. The company has equipped it with a 2,775 mm wheelbase to enhance the driving experience, along with a ground clearance of 207 mm.

Boasting a bold design, the BE 6 will be available for sale in Nepal with two battery options. Agni Incorporated Pvt. Ltd. has been testing the BE 6 in various locations in Nepal, featuring 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery packs sourced from FinDreams, a subsidiary of BYD.

Its estimated range is between 400 and 550 km. The vehicle is powered by a 99 kW electric motor.

Due to its exterior design and the modern look and features of its cabin, it is expected that many will visit the Mobility Expo to explore this vehicle.

Leapmotor B 10

Another model that could stand out at the Mobility Show is the Leapmotor B 10. While its design may not be particularly striking, it is built with the needs of compact SUV buyers in mind, making it likely to gain attention.

Additionally, its pricing is expected to contribute to its popularity. Since Shangrila Motors has already introduced the Leapmotor C 10 and T 03 in Nepal with attractive pricing, it is anticipated that the B 10 will also capture the interest of visitors.

The Leapmotor B 10 has commendable dimensions, with a length of 4,515 mm, a width of 1,885 mm and a height of 1,655 mm. The SUV features a 2,735 mm wheelbase, though details about its ground clearance are not yet available.
