KATHMANDU: TVS Motor Company has launched a new variant of its electric scooter, the TVS Orbiter V1, in India. The e-scooter is priced at 84,500 Indian rupees (ex-showroom, Delhi) and is also available with a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) option.
The Orbiter V1 is equipped with a 1.8 kWh battery pack that offers a claimed range of 86 km on a single charge. The battery can be charged from 0 to 80 percent in about 2 hours and 20 minutes.
In terms of features, the e-scooter comes with an LCD instrument console and supports turn-by-turn navigation, OTA updates, safety alerts, multiple riding modes, hill-hold assist, parking assist, and cruise control.
Customers choosing the BaaS option can purchase the scooter with a lower upfront payment. The battery subscription plan includes an extended warranty of up to five years or 70,000 km, along with unlimited monthly usage.
