KATHMANDU: Hero MotoCorp’s electric mobility brand Vida has unveiled the new VX2 Plus electric scooter in India under its VX2 lineup. The scooter is priced at 143,999 Indian rupees (ex-showroom) and offers one of the longest certified riding ranges in its segment.
The VX2 Plus is powered by two removable 2.2 kWh lithium-ion battery packs, offering a combined capacity of 4.4 kWh. According to the Indian Driving Cycle (IDC), the scooter delivers a certified range of 187 km on a single charge, making it one of the highest-range electric scooters currently available in the Indian market.
Power comes from a 6 kW electric motor producing 26 Nm of peak torque, enabling a top speed of 90 km/h.
The scooter features Eco, Ride and Sport riding modes, along with a Boost function that provides additional acceleration for overtaking.
Vida has also introduced an industry-first 1 kW portable charger with the VX2 Plus. Using the portable charger, the battery can be charged from 0 to 80% in 3 hours and 30 minutes. The scooter also supports DC fast charging, allowing a full charge in just 65 minutes.
In terms of features, the VX2 Plus comes equipped with a 4.3-inch TFT instrument cluster, smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, over-the-air (OTA) software updates, Combined Braking System (CBS), and 27.2 liters of under-seat storage.
The scooter has also earned recognition in the Asia Book of Records after completing a 12,111 km journey, setting a record for the longest ride by an electric scooter.
Vida is also preparing to enter the Nepali market. CG Motors, the brand’s authorized distributor in Nepal, is expected to launch Vida electric scooters during the upcoming auto show. While the company has yet to confirm which model will debut in Nepal, the newly launched VX2 Plus is among the potential contenders.
