KATHMANDU: Yamaha Motor India has launched the new XSR 155 in the domestic market, priced at 150,000 Indian rupee (ex-showroom).

The model marks the brand’s latest entry in the 150cc segment, combining neo-retro styling with performance components shared with the MT-15 and R15.

The XSR 155 is powered by a 155cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that produces 18.4 hp at 10,000 rpm and 14.1 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm.

The motor is paired with a six-speed gearbox, offering smooth and responsive performance similar to Yamaha’s proven 155cc lineup.

Inspired by the brand’s global XSR series, the motorcycle features a neo-retro design highlighted by a round LED headlamp and tail lamp, and a teardrop-shaped fuel tank with the ‘Yamaha’ script. The flat, single-piece seat distinguishes it from the stepped units seen on the MT-15 and R15, giving it a more classic roadster profile.

The XSR 155 combines retro styling with modern features. It is equipped with all-LED lighting and a retro-styled full LCD digital instrument cluster. On the technology front, it includes Yamaha’s Advanced Technology suite with traction control and the Motorcycle Connect system, which offers smartphone-based connectivity.

For safety, the motorcycle comes with dual-channel ABS, providing improved braking performance across different road conditions.
