Yamaha FZS hybrid launched in Nepal at Rs 489,900

KATHMANDU: MAW Rides has launched the Yamaha FZS Hybrid in the Nepali market, marking the entry of hybrid motorcycles in the segment.

The company has priced the new model at Rs 489,900 and has officially started sales. According to the distributor, the FZS Hybrid introduces a new segment in Nepal’s motorcycle market.

The motorcycle is powered by a 149cc single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine paired with Smart Motor Assist technology. This hybrid system provides electric assist during acceleration, along with features like smoother start-stop operation, improved fuel efficiency, and reduced emissions.

Targeted mainly for urban commuting, the system supports better power delivery at low speeds and during initial acceleration, making city rides smoother and more efficient.

MAW Rides claims the bike can deliver mileage of over 60 kmpl, along with lower running costs and an eco-friendly riding experience.

In terms of performance, the engine produces 12.4 PS of power and 13.3 Nm of torque, mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The motorcycle also comes with features focused on comfort, safety, and everyday usability.
