KATHMANDU: BMW has unveiled the facelifted version of its flagship luxury sedan, the 7 Series. The updated model gets major design changes, a refreshed cabin, and new technology features.

The new 7 Series comes with a redesigned front fascia. It retains BMW’s large illuminated kidney grille and split headlamp setup. However, the overall look is now sharper and more modern.

At the rear, the sedan gets slimmer LED tail lamps with twin light elements. The bumpers have also been redesigned for a cleaner appearance.

Inside, BMW has reworked the cabin based on its Neue Klasse design philosophy.

The sedan now features a new four-spoke steering wheel and a full-width panoramic display. It also gets a 17.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system and an additional 14.6-inch passenger display.

Rear-seat passengers get a large 31.3-inch theater screen, now with support for 8K streaming.

Other premium features include a Bowers & Wilkins audio system with Dolby Atmos, panoramic glass roof, and four-zone automatic climate control.

BMW is offering the new 7 Series with mild-hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric options. The entry-level version gets 3.0-liter six-cylinder petrol and diesel engines paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system.

There are two plug-in hybrid variants producing 482 BHP and 604 BHP. The all-electric i7 uses a 112.5 kWh battery pack with dual electric motors.

The 50 xDrive and 60 xDrive variants offer ranges of 728 km and 727 km, respectively. The top-spec M70 xDrive produces 671 BHP and delivers a claimed range of up to 686 km.
