KATHMANDU: BYD Atto 1 has been unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show 2026 with key upgrades in range and technology. The model is sold as Seagull in the Chinese market. It is positioned as BYD’s entry-level electric hatchback.
The updated version now offers improved driving range. The top variant delivers up to 505 km (CLTC), up from 405 km earlier. One major highlight is the optional LiDAR system. The equipped variant uses BYD’s ‘God’s Eye B’ driver assistance system.

In terms of design, the overall look remains similar. It gets minor updates such as a new red color option and 16-inch wheels. The car also features roof-mounted LiDAR, additional cameras, and dual wipers.
Inside, the layout is largely unchanged. It gets small refinements including simplified steering controls and updated console buttons. The car offers 50W wireless fast charging with a cooling vent. Other updates include a single cup holder and a revised armrest box.

Power output has been slightly increased. The electric motor now produces up to 60 kW (80 hp). Full specifications are yet to be announced. More details are expected closer to launch.
The BYD Atto 1 is sold in Nepal as a popular and affordable electric hatchback by the official distributor Cimex Inc.. It is expected that the new Auto One will be launched in the Nepali market soon.
