KATHMANDU: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has reduced the prices of petroleum products after receiving lower fuel purchase rates from Indian Oil Corporation (IOC). The revised prices will come into effect from Wednesday at 12:01 AM.

The NOC board meeting decided to reduce the price of petrol by Rs 20 per liter, diesel and kerosene by Rs 30 per liter, and domestic aviation fuel by Rs 40 per liter.

After the adjustment, petrol will cost Rs 197 per liter, while diesel and kerosene will cost Rs 195 per liter in Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Dipayal categories.

The price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) has also been reduced by Rs 100 per cylinder. The new price of a 14.2 kg LPG cylinder has been fixed at Rs 2,060.

The price of domestic aviation fuel has been fixed at Rs 229 per liter.

NOC stated that although international petroleum prices had fluctuated in recent months, price adjustments were not made according to the automatic pricing system. The corporation said the latest adjustment was made after IOC provided lower purchase prices due to changes in the international market.
