KATHMANDU: Toyota has launched the 2026 Hilux in India with a refreshed design, updated interior and new technology features. The pickup is available in three variants, with prices starting at 3.199 million Indian rupees (ex-showroom). The top-spec VX 4×4 AT is priced at Rs 3.669 million Indian rupees.
The new Hilux is offered in GX 4×2 AT, GX 4×4 AT and VX 4×4 AT variants.
The ninth-generation Hilux continues to use Toyota’s IMV body-on-frame platform and is available exclusively in a double-cab configuration for the Indian market.
The updated pickup features a bolder front fascia with a honeycomb grille, slimmer LED headlamps connected by a black trim and a redesigned bumper. It also gets flared wheel arches, a new tailgate and C-shaped LED taillamps. The cargo bed offers a payload capacity of 500 kg.
Inside, the Hilux comes with a redesigned dashboard featuring a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. Other highlights include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless phone charger, dual-zone automatic climate control, ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, selectable terrain modes and an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS).
Power comes from a 2.8-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine producing 201 hp and 500 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and is available with either rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive.
Toyota is offering the 2026 Hilux in six exterior colours: Sulphur Metallic, Platinum Pearl White Metallic, Attitude Black, Ash, Emotional Red and Super White.
The updated Hilux is expected to strengthen Toyota’s position in India’s lifestyle pickup segment, where it rivals models such as the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross.
The Hilux is also one of Nepal’s most popular lifestyle pickups. Given its strong demand in the local market, the refreshed model is expected to make its way to Nepal in the near future.
