KATHMANDU : The M-Hero 1, a rugged electric SUV inspired by the design of the GMC Hummer EV, has arrived in Nepal ahead of the NADA Auto Show 2026.
The SUV is manufactured by Dongfeng Motor Corporation under its MHero brand. The model is also known as the MHero I 917 in international markets.
The MHero 1 is expected to be displayed by MAW Vriddhi at the 18th edition of the NADA Auto Show, scheduled to take place at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu, from August 25 to 30.
The full-size luxury SUV is positioned as an off-road-focused electric vehicle. It competes in the same broad segment as high-performance models such as the GMC Hummer EV and Mercedes-Benz G-Class.

The pure-electric version gets four electric motors with a combined output of 800 kW (1,088 hp) and 1,400 Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds.
Power comes from a 142.7 kWh battery pack. The BEV version has a claimed range of up to 505 km under the CLTC cycle. Some international-market specifications list around 450 km under WLTC, depending on the market and test cycle.
The MHero 1 also features an adjustable air suspension. Its ground clearance can be raised from around 230 mm to 335 mm, while its maximum wading depth is rated at 900 mm.

The SUV comes with intelligent four-wheel drive and multiple off-road driving modes. These are designed to improve performance on different surfaces and challenging terrain.
Inside, the 917 gets a large central touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster and a premium cabin layout. Its exterior design features a boxy body, pronounced wheel arches and distinctive door handles.
The MHero 1 is expected to be showcased at the NADA Auto Show rather than launched for immediate retail sales in Nepal. According to the information provided, its sales are expected to begin from January 2027, meaning prospective buyers may have to wait several months before deliveries begin.
