KATHMANDU : The Nammi Vigo electric SUV can now be purchased with a monthly installment of around Rs 31,000, equivalent to roughly Rs 1,000 per day.

The price of the Vigo has been reduced by Rs 800,000 following a major price cut by MAW Vriddhi, the authorized distributor of Nammi in Nepal.

The company has set the price of the Vigo E2 at Rs 3.599 million for the duration of the NADA Auto Show. After the auto show, the price will increase to Rs 3.799 million. The model was previously priced at Rs 4.399 million.

Under the current Nepal Rastra Bank regulations, buyers can get financing of up to 60 percent of the vehicle’s value, requiring a 40 percent down payment.

At the current price, buyers need to make a down payment of Rs 1.4396 million, while the remaining Rs 2.1594 million can be financed for seven years.

With interest rates currently available at around 5.25 to 5.50 percent, a loan at 5.5 percent interest for seven years would result in a monthly EMI of around Rs 31,030. This works out to approximately Rs 1,034 per day.

When the Vigo was priced at Rs 4.399 million, the monthly EMI was around Rs 38,000. The price reduction has therefore lowered the monthly installment by around Rs 7,000.
