KATHMANDU: Vehicles traveling from Kathmandu to four districts have been stopped following a severe flood in the Lhende Khola in Rasuwa.
Traffic police have stopped vehicles heading from Kathmandu towards Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, and Chitwan.
SP Naresh Raj Subedi of the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office said vehicles bound for the four districts were stopped in Kathmandu as a precaution following the flood.
He said the decision was taken due to the high water flow in the river and the risk it poses to travelers.
The government has urged families living along riverbanks in Rasuwa, Dhading, Gorkha, Chitwan, and Nuwakot to stay in safe locations.
It has also asked those who require search and rescue services or any other assistance to immediately call the toll-free number 1234.
