KATHMANDU: Chery has been named the most reliable Chinese automotive brand for the second consecutive year, according to the 2026 J.D. Power China Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS).
The latest recognition highlights Chery’s continued focus on vehicle quality, durability and reliability. The company said the achievement further strengthens its reputation in the global automotive market.
J.D. Power evaluates vehicle dependability based on problems experienced by owners of vehicles aged 13 to 48 months during the previous six months. The 2026 study covered more than 11,000 vehicle owners across 80 cities in China, covering 109 models from 34 brands.
The recognition is also significant for Chery’s growing presence in Nepal. Four Chery sub-brands are currently available in the Nepali market. Chery Q entered Nepal in August, while Omoda, Jaecoo and iCAUR have already established their presence in the market.
These brands offer a range of vehicles featuring modern designs, smart technologies and different powertrain options aimed at meeting the needs of Nepali customers.
Chery said the continued recognition from J.D. Power reflects its efforts to deliver quality, durable and reliable vehicles while meeting changing customer expectations.
