KATHMANDU: Tata Motors has launched the Aeris compact sedan in India, replacing the Tigor in its lineup. Prices start at 529,000 Indian rupees and go up to 974,000 Indian rupees (ex-showroom).
The sedan gets slimmer LED headlamps with integrated daytime running lights. The front also features a gloss-black grille, revised bumper and LED fog lamps.
At the rear, the Aeris gets redesigned LED tail lamps connected by an illuminated strip. The boot lid and bumper also receive new styling elements. The Aeris badge is placed below the Tata logo.
The sedan rides on new 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels. It is available in six exterior colors, including Dandeli Drizzle, Nitro Crimson, Dune Glow, Daytona Grey, Pure Gray and Pristine White. All versions come with a black roof.
There are no major changes to the dimensions compared to the Tigor. The sedan continues with a 419-liter boot. The Aeris gets a redesigned cabin inspired by the Tiago. It features a lighter color theme with a layered dashboard.
The sedan gets a 12.7-cm digital instrument cluster and a 26.03-cm HD touchscreen infotainment system. The system supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Other features include connected-car technology, a six-speaker audio system and wireless phone charging. The front seats get ventilation, while higher variants also get leatherette upholstery and additional thigh support.
The Aeris also gets automatic climate control, rear AC vents and 65W Type-C charging ports.
Safety features include six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability program, hill-hold assist, tire pressure monitoring system and ISOFIX mounts.
The sedan also gets a 360-degree camera, blind-view monitor and a multi-view digital video recorder. Automatic headlamps and rain-sensing wipers are also available.
The Aeris uses the 1.2-liter, three-cylinder petrol engine, with both petrol and CNG versions offered with manual and AMT gearboxes. The petrol version produces 84 BHP and 113 Nm of torque. The CNG version produces 75 BHP and 97 Nm.
