KATHMANDU: Saudi Arabia based EV startup Ceer Motors has been spotted testing a new SUV prototype, marking progress towards its first production model. According to CarBuzz, the company claims to be the first electric vehicle brand developed in Saudi Arabia.
Ceer has partnered with major global companies, including BYD, Foxconn, Rimac, and BMW, giving the startup strong technical backing. The company is backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF).
Spy photos show a very unconventional SUV design with sharp, wedge-like styling. The prototype has been compared to the Tesla Cybertruck due to its angular shape. The front features small running lights and a sharply raked windshield that covers more than half the vehicle’s length.
The SUV appears to be a two-door model, with the driving position set far back. The low and flat windshield is expected to improve aerodynamics but may limit cabin space and visibility.

Ceer has partnered with Isoclima for advanced glass technology. Isoclima supplies glass to brands such as Pagani and McLaren. The SUV will use IR-reflective coated glass to reduce interior heat.
Design details include multiple body lines, a Breadvan-style rear roof overhang, and three-spoke wheels with a triangular trim ring. These elements give the vehicle a distinctive, futuristic appearance.
Ceer has announced plans to launch its first vehicle in 2025, although it is unclear if this SUV will arrive first. According to spy sources, the SUV is expected to enter production in 2027, while a sedan may debut earlier.
Despite the challenges faced by new EV makers, Ceer’s active road testing and strong financial backing suggest the project is moving beyond concept stages.
