KATHMANDU: Ather Energy has introduced its next-generation EL platform at the Community Day 2025, marking a significant step in the company’s product development strategy in India.

Built for scalability and cost efficiency, the platform will underpin a range of new models including a family scooter, maxi-scooter and a sporty performance EV.

Ather also revealed the EL01 Concept, offering a preview of its upcoming family scooter.

The EL platform features a scalable chassis, new powertrain and redesigned software stack. According to the company, it enables faster assembly, longer service intervals and quicker maintenance.

Key additions include an Advanced Electronic Braking System (AEBS) and a Charge Drive Controller, which integrates the charger with the motor controller, eliminating the need for a separate portable charger.

Ather also announced AtherStack 7.0, the company’s largest software update so far. The upgrade introduces voice-enabled interaction, along with Crash Alerts, Pothole Alerts and theft-protection systems ParkSafe and LockSafe.

The update will be made available to existing customers via over-the-air (OTA) rollout. The company further showcased its fast-charging system, capable of delivering 30 km of range in 10 minutes.

In parallel, Ather has introduced Infinite Cruise on the 450 Apex, offered through an OTA update. The feature can be activated using the reverse button and includes three riding modes: City Cruise for steady speeds on flat roads, Hill Cruise for gradients and Crawl Control (exclusive to the Apex) for low-speed riding at 10 km/h.

The 450 Apex continues to be powered by a 3.7 kWh battery and 7 kW motor, with a top of speed 100 km/h and a range of 157 km per charge.

Ather has now deployed over 4,000 charging points across India. The first scooter based on the EL platform is expected to debut in India during the festive season of 2026.
