KATHMANDU: The facelift version of the Omoda E5 is set to arrive soon in the Nepali market. SPG Automobiles, the official distributor of Omoda in Nepal, has started preparations to launch the updated electric SUV.
The company recently shared a teaser image on social media with the caption “Coming Soon.” Although the model name has not been officially confirmed, the design strongly suggests it is the facelifted Omoda E5.
The Omoda E5 has already gained good popularity in Nepal due to its attractive styling and strong performance. Since its launch in 2024, nearly 1,000 units have been sold in the country within two years.
The E5 is a feature-loaded coupe-style SUV. The facelift model is expected to come with major updates. It will be slightly larger in size and offer several new features.
The upcoming model is also expected to use a smaller battery pack. The current version sold in Nepal comes with a 61 kWh battery. The facelift model is likely to get a 50.6 kWh battery pack, while retaining the same 99 kW electric motor.
The current E5 measures 4,424 mm in length, 1,830 mm in width, and 1,558 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,630 mm. The facelift version is expected to be slightly longer.
Several design changes have also been made. The new model gets slimmer DRLs, redesigned split headlamps, a sharper front nose, and the removal of the chrome light strip at the front. These updates give the SUV a more futuristic and aggressive look.
The interior has also been updated significantly. The merged instrument cluster and dashboard display from the previous model have been removed. A larger horizontal screen has now been added for a cleaner and more modern cabin layout.
The instrument cluster has been replaced by a slimmer digital display. The center console has also been redesigned. The glossy black panel from the older model has been replaced with wireless smartphone chargers, twin cup holders, and fewer physical buttons.
Despite the larger size and added features, the facelifted E5 is expected to become more affordable because of the smaller battery pack.
