BYD expands Nepal lineup to seven models

KATHMANDU: Chinese electric vehicle maker BYD has expanded its Nepal lineup to seven models with the launch of the Atto 2.

Cimex Inc, the authorized distributor for BYD in Nepal, officially launched the Atto 2 during the opening day of the 2025 Auto Show in Kathmandu on Tuesday.

The Atto 2 is the third BYD model launched in Nepal in less than a month. Cimex launched the Atto 1, which is sold as BYD Seagull in China and Dolphin Surf in European markets, during the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo on August 6. Similarly, it launched the Sealion 7 SUV on July 24.

Cimex currently offers seven BYD models — Atto 3, Dolphin, Seal, M6, Sealion 7, Atto 1 and Atto 2 – in Nepal. These vehicles are priced between Rs 2.89 million to Rs 19.5 million

The Atto 1 is the most affordable model in BYD’s Nepal lineup. The Dynamic variant of the car is priced at Rs 2.895 million, while the Premium variant costs Rs 3.299 million. The Dolphin follows as the second most affordable option with a price tag of Rs 4.115 million. Similarly, the newly launched Atto 2 is priced at Rs 4.399 million.

Both Dolphin and Atto 2 are available in a single variant.

Seven BYD models — Atto 3, Dolphin, Seal, M6, Sealion 7, Atto 1 and Atto 2 – are currently available in Nepal. These vehicles are priced between Rs 2.89 million to Rs 19.5 million.

The Atto 3, one of the most popular electric SUVs in Nepal, is next in the BYD lineup in Nepal. It is available in two variants —Advanced priced at Rs 5.69 million and Superior available for Rs 6.78 million.

The M6, also available in a single variant, is another BYD offering in Nepal. The electric MPV is available for Rs 5.89 million.

Similarly, the Sealion 7 SUV is also available in a single variant and costs Rs 7.499 billion.

The most expensive BYD model available is the Seal, a sporty sedan. The Dynamic variant of the Seal is priced at Rs 11 million, while the Premium and Performance variants cost Rs 14.55 million and Rs 19.50 million, respectively.

Cimex Inc has priced BYD’s electric vehicle range in Nepal from Rs 2.895 million to Rs 19.5 million, catering to a wide range of buyers—from those seeking affordable urban EVs to premium performance sedans.

BYD’s aggressive expansion strategy and continuous product launches underscore its commitment to Nepal’s growing electric vehicle market.
