KATHMANDU: CG Motors is set to launch the Aion UT hatchback at the 17th edition of the NADA Auto Show 2025, commencing on August 19, 2025.

This family-friendly hatchback is expected to appeal to buyers with its competitive price and practical features, making it a notable addition to the Nepali market.

The company has not yet shared details about the price, battery size, or motor power for the Nepali version. However, the Aion UT is sold in China for USD 12,300 to USD 15,000.

It features a 44 kWh LFP battery with a claimed range of 420 km under CLTC standards. In real conditions, the range is estimated at around 340 km. The hatchback uses a 100 kW motor.

In Nepal, premium hatchbacks like the BYD Dolphin and Dongfeng Nami 01 are priced between Rs 3 million and Rs 4.1 million. Industry sources expect the Aion UT to be priced in a similar range.

The Aion UT measures 4,270 mm in length, 1,850 mm in width and 1,575 mm in height, with a 2,750 mm wheelbase. It comes with 17-inch alloy wheels and a modern exterior design. Highlights include a long wheelbase, flush door handles, smooth body lines and an oval-shaped profile. The front grille stands out, with the charging port placed on the right front fender.

The headlights and fog lamps feature a unique design, while the rear is defined by distinct taillights and aerodynamic body panels. Inside, the cabin offers a large infotainment display, a two-spoke steering wheel, wireless charging and a digital instrument cluster.
