KATHMANDU: Chery has launched the new iCar Super V23 under the iCar V23 series. It comes in five trims and is priced between 17,300 and 24,600 USD in China. It is a compact electric SUV with stronger motors and a driving range of up to 550 km.
The iCar V23 series is sold as the Chery iCaur V23 in overseas markets, including Nepal. This change is due to a trademark dispute. Chery uses the “iCaur” name for exports.
The iCar Super V23 has earned a Guinness World Record for the fastest climb on a 400-meter sand dune by a mass-produced EV. It completed the climb in just 2 minutes and 38.34 seconds.

The SUV is offered in two power options: rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD). The RWD version has a 185 kW motor with battery packs of 59.93 kWh and 80.16 kWh, giving a range of 401 km and 550 km.
The AWD version adds a 150 kW front motor, with a combined output of 335 kW (449 hp). It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds and offers a 501 km range with its 80.16 kWh battery.
On the outside, the SUV keeps the retro boxy design of the standard iCar V23 but features a special red “S” logo. It is equipped with 22 sensors, including ultrasonic radars, millimeter-wave radars and cameras. These work with the Falcon 500 advanced driver assistance system, which supports over 23 functions.

Inside, the car has an 8.88-inch digital instrument panel and a 15.4-inch 2.5K central display. It runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip and supports CarPlay, HiCar and CarLink for smartphone connectivity.
