KATHMANDU: A new mobile EV charging solution has been introduced in Nanning, China, allowing electric vehicle owners to charge their cars without relying on fixed charging infrastructure as reported by Chinese newspaper.
Developed by Eraergy, the system features compact, self-guided charging robots branded as the “Energy Tank.” Each unit stands around 1.5 meters tall and is available with battery capacities of 30 kWh, 100 kWh, and 200 kWh. It supports discharge power of up to 120 kW.

The robots can be summoned through a mobile app. Once activated, they autonomously navigate to the parked vehicle and start charging within minutes. The company claims that an EV can be charged from 10% to a usable level in approximately 40 to 60 minutes.
It is particularly useful in older housing complexes, as it removes the need for costly grid upgrades and installation of fixed chargers.
Beyond residential use, the system is being expanded to hotels, highway service areas, and logistics hubs. The logistics firms are also using mobile chargers to power vehicles during idle periods.
Eraergy says the system is designed to shift EV charging from a fixed infrastructure model to an on-demand service, where the charger comes directly to the vehicle.
