KATHMANDU : Honda has launched the ZR-V e:HEV hybrid SUV in India at an introductory price of 4.799 million Indian rupees (ex-showroom, Delhi). The model is imported as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) from Japan.
Bookings for the SUV opened in May, and customer deliveries have now begun.
The ZR-V enters the midsize SUV segment with a design that follows Honda’s global styling language. It features a hexagonal front grille with vertical slats, LED headlamps with L-shaped daytime running lights, wraparound LED taillamps, a roof spoiler and a shark-fin antenna. The SUV rides on 18-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, the cabin has a clean dashboard layout with horizontal air vents and a freestanding 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It also gets a fully digital instrument cluster and a three-spoke steering wheel.
Key features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, an eight-way powered driver’s seat, a four-way power-adjustable front passenger seat, a powered tailgate and a 12-speaker Bose audio system.
Power comes from a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder petrol engine paired with two electric motors. The hybrid system produces a combined 181 BHP and 315 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels through an e-CVT automatic transmission. Paddle shifters allow drivers to adjust regenerative braking.
Honda claims the ZR-V can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 8 seconds. The SUV has an electronically limited top speed of 172 km/h and a claimed fuel efficiency of 22.79 km/l.
The ZR-V is equipped with Honda Sensing, the brand’s Level 2 advanced driver assistance system (ADAS). The package includes Collision Mitigation Braking System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist System and Road Departure Mitigation System.
Safety features also include a 360-degree camera, eight airbags and a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
The Honda ZR-V is offered in four exterior color options.
