KATHMANDU: Hyundai has announced that production of its new Elexio EO electric SUV will begin in China on October 16, the same day pre-sales start.
The model is built on Hyundai’s E-GMP (Electric Global Modular Platform) and is the Beijing-Hyundai joint venture’s first all-electric SUV developed in China.
The Elexio EO features a Qualcomm Snapdragon SA8295P chip and can travel up to 722 km on a single charge (CLTC range). Its design is inspired by the Morse code for “H,” seen in the square LED headlights with 152 lights and a slim front light bar. The SUV also has a sloping roofline, hidden door handles and a two-tone rear for a modern appearance.

The vehicle measures 4,615 mm in length, 1,875 mm in width and 1,675 mm in height, with a 2,750 mm wheelbase.
The car is available in FWD and AWD versions, with 64.2 kWh and 88.1 kWh battery options offering CLTC ranges between 518 km and 722 km. With fast charging, the battery can be charged from 30 to 80 in just 27 minutes.
Inside, the SUV features a 27-inch 4K integrated display that combines the main infotainment and co-pilot screens, along with a head-up display. The cabin has a minimalist design with no physical buttons and offers 29 storage compartments for added convenience.

Beijing Hyundai plans to launch two to three new energy vehicles each year over the next four years, including BEV, PHEV and EREV models. The Elexio EO is currently an LHD vehicle for China. Hyundai may produce an RHD version in the future for other RHD countries.
