KATHMANDU: SPG Automobiles, the official distributor of Chery in Nepal, has kept the iCaur V23 on display at its showroom in Kathmandu.

MeroAuto got an opportunity to make a walkaround video of V23. Here is our first impression of the compact SUV.

The compact electric off-roader was originally scheduled to arrive in Kathmandu three weeks ago for the inaugural NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo, its entry was delayed due to a landslide that blocked the Tatopani border point.

The V23 brings a rugged, off-road design with 205 mm ground clearance, 19-inch alloy wheels, and a customizable tail section. Slightly smaller than Chery’ Jaecoo J6, which is already available in Nepal, the V23 comes with a “neo-classic” look that is expected to draw considerable attention.

The SUV uses a 100 kW motor paired with a 59.93 kWh LFP battery, which offers a claimed range of up to 401 km when fully charged.

The V23 is 4,220 mm long, 1,915 mm wide, and 1,845 mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2,735  mm. It boasts a 40-degree departure angle and a 42-degree approach angle which underscores its off-road credentials.

The SUV uses a 59.93 kWh LFP battery, which offers a claimed range of up to 401 km when fully charged. The V23 is powered by a 100 kW rear-wheel drive motor and has  five driving modes, including a dedicated off-road mode.

Inside, both front seats are electrically adjustable. A premium audio system with seven speakers enhances the in-cabin experience, while the 15.4-inch central display, paired with a partitioned instrument cluster, provides a modern digital interface.

On the safety front, the V23 comes with ADAS capabilities, powered by the Horizon Robotics J3 chip. It is fitted with an 8 MP front camera, a 3 MP rear surround-view camera, five millimeter-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars, high-speed navigation, emergency lane keeping, traffic jam assist, automatic parking, remote parking and memory parking, among other features.

Design highlights include a boxy silhouette, smoked front grille, round headlamps, roof luggage rack, and hidden door handles. These features giving the SUV a bold, hardcore off-road appeal.

SPG Automobiles has not yet confirmed the official pricing of the V23 in Nepal. However, industry insiders expect the price to be below Rs 5 million. If it is indeed priced below this price point, it will be a strong contender in Nepal’s compact SUV segment.
